RIVL Golf Match ("RIVL," "we," "our," or "us") is operated by RIVL Labs Ltd., a Canadian corporation. We operate the RIVL Golf Match iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.

We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your display name, profile photo, and match results are visible to users you are matched with. Your profile is searchable by other users if you have enabled the searchable setting.
If you connect your GHIN number, RIVL shares your name, email address, and Handicap ID with the USGA to verify your golfer profile and retrieve your handicap data. The USGA may in turn share your handicap and scoring data with regional golf associations, member clubs, golfers, and other approved technology providers in accordance with the USGA Privacy Policy. Any scores you post through RIVL may become part of the USGA's Master Data Set and may be further shared with third parties in accordance with the USGA Privacy Policy. You may withdraw your consent to USGA data sharing at any time from Settings → USGA Handicap Data.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of our users.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you permanently delete your account, we will delete your personal information — including your profile, profile photo, round data, and Firebase Authentication record — from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
After deletion, your name and profile are removed. Aggregate match records (scores and outcomes) that are part of your rivals' match history may be retained in a de-identified form so rivals retain their own match history. These records no longer identify you.
If you deactivate your account (rather than deleting it), your profile is hidden from search and your subscription ends, but your match history is preserved and your rivals can still see past results. Deactivation is permanent — reactivation requires a new account.

You can enable or disable push notifications through your device settings at any time. You can manage individual notification types in app Settings. Transactional emails related to your account (such as match invites) are sent based on your account relationship. These are not marketing emails and cannot be fully disabled while your account is active, but you can contact us to opt out of non-essential email communications.
You can control whether your profile is searchable by other users through the app settings at any time.
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@rivlgolfmatch.com and we will delete that information promptly.
For users in the European Union and European Economic Area, the minimum age is 16 unless the laws of your country permit a lower age (which may be as low as 13 in some EU member states). If you are under 16 and located in the EU/EEA, you should only use the app with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and applicable authorities as required by law.
RIVL Labs Ltd. is incorporated in Canada. Your data is stored and processed on Firebase servers located in the United States (us-central1 region). Transfers from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to the United States are made under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Firebase's Data Processing Addendum. You can review the applicable transfer mechanisms at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Other third-party providers listed in Section 4 may also process your data in the United States or other countries. Each provider maintains appropriate transfer safeguards as described in their respective privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
